Screen production

Auckland City was one of the first councils in the Auckland region to be granted 'Film Friendly' status by Local Government New Zealand.

We were a key supporter and a key partner in the establishment of the regional film office Film Auckland.

Film Auckland works towards assisting the feature film, television commercial and television series production industry through film friendly logistics, international location marketing and by collaboration with other industry entities.

We continue to work closely with Film Auckland on a regional basis to ensure the sustainable development of the screen production industry

We have a dedicated team to help production companies facilitate screen production in Auckland.

Auckland City and Waitakere City Councils have produced a DVD to showcase locations and screen production capabilities of the two cities. The DVD includes location footage, showreels of previous films and television commercials made in the region, endorsements from film-makers and the music industry, and other information about the region.
