The area is a key manufacturing location for Auckland city. In recent years, a number of businesses have relocated to the area from the CBD and CBD fringe. A number of these businesses have been engaged in high value-added manufacturing, distribution, product development and advanced business services. The Rosebank 2030 business precinct plan is a plan to retain and grow existing companies, attract new businesses and generate more employment opportunities in the precinct. The plan has been developed after extensive research, analysis and consultation, council has issued Rosebank 2030 to Rosebank businesses, landowners and other interested stakeholders. Adopted in May 2008, Rosebank 2030 provides the framework and support for the renewal and ongoing development of the precinct. Rosebank 2030 is the first business precinct plan to be developed for one of Auckland city's dedicated business areas. Current and planned precinct plans2007/20082008/2009Tamaki Innovation Precinct
There is significant opportunity for the Tamaki business area to transition over time to a higher value business location for advanced manufacturing, high tech and supporting business activities and become an 'innovation precinct'. The proposed precinct vision for 2030 is: "The Tamaki Innovation Precinct is recognised internationally as New Zealand's sustainable centre of technological innovation and a hub of its knowledge economy." The council is currently developing the precinct plan and once the draft plan is complete will make it available for public feedback. Find out more on the Tamaki Innovation Precinct Plan. PenroseInitial research, scoping and analysis have been undertaken on the wider business area located in the southeastern edge of the city. This analysis will help inform the development of a precinct plan for Penrose. The study area for this precinct plan will be situated near the rail station, as it is envisioned that this is where significant future employment growth will be located. Updated July 2008 |
