Auckland alcohol accords

Current accords

There are currently six local accords overseen by the executive accord as follows:

Executive accord

The executive accord is made up of the chair and a second representative from each of the local accords, plus representatives from the Police, District Licensing Agency and other agencies. It's role is to provide direction to the accords.

Aotea accord

The Aotea accord was established in 2002 with a focus on the Aotea precinct. The accord is chaired by Linda Poynton from SkyCity. All owners and managers of licensed bars, cafes and restaurants in the central Auckland city area are welcome to attend.

Karangahape accord

The Karangahape accord was established in 2003. The accord is chaired by Simon Nolan from Thirsty Dog, Karangahape Road. All owners and managers of licensed bars, cafes and restaurants in and around the Karangahape Road area are welcome to attend.

Parnell accord

The original Parnell/Newmarket accord was established in 2003. Due to the size of the accord area there is now a separate Parnell accord meeting taking place. The accord is chaired by Paul Sissons from The Bog, Parnell. All owners and managers of licensed bars, cafes and restaurants in and around the Parnell area are welcome to attend.

Newmarket accord

The original Parnell/Newmarket accord was established in 2003. Due to the size of the accord area there is now a separate Newmarket accord meeting taking place. The accord is chaired and hosted by Cameron Brewer head of the Newmarket Business Association. All owners and managers of licensed bars, cafes and restaurants in and around the Newmarket area are welcome to attend.

Ponsonby accord

The Ponsonby accord was established in 2005. The accord is chaired and hosted by Luke Dallow from Chapel Bar & Bistro. All owners and managers of licensed bars, cafes and restaurants in the Ponsonby area are welcome to attend.

Viaduct accord

The Viaduct accord was the first accord to be established in Auckland city. It was originally called the Downtown accord and formed in 2000, at the time of the first America's Cup race in New Zealand. The accord is chaired and hosted by Judith Tabron from Soul Bar & Bistro. All owners and managers of licensed bars, cafes and restaurants in and around the Viaduct area are welcome to attend.
