Outcome

Ian McKinnon Drive improvements Ian McKinnon Drive has been identified as a road where transport choices could be improved for all users. We are proposing a number of changes around Ian McKinnon Drive and sections of New North Road, Upper Queen Street, Alex Evans Street and Dominion Road that will make the area safer and more attractive for all users. Consultation on this proposal closed on Friday, 9 November 2007.  

Aroha Avenue
Sandringham

Due to a recent request to investigate the requirement of the 'No stopping 9am-11am Mon-Sun' restriction, consultation was undertaken to remove the restriction currently on the northern and eastern sides of Aroha Avenue.

119 consultation letters were sent out to the residents of Aroha Avenue and 47 responded.

Letters advising all consulted parties were sent out on the 20 December,2006.

Due to the feedback received, the 'No Stopping 9am-11am , Mon-Sun' restriction was retained in part of the street however, removed from the majority of the street. 
Dundonald Street Eden Terrace There was a request for restricted parking on Dundonald Street as commuters were parking there all day and leaving no parking for the businesses on the street.

A consultation was sent out on 2 May 2006 to 56.

In order to implement the requested P60 restriction Auckland City Council required a minimum 50% support from consulted businesses, however only 21 survey forms were returned with 10 supporting, 10 disagreeing and 1 no preference.

Auckland City will review this restriction in 6 months time.

Gladstone Road/Balfour Road
Parnell

Consultation was undertaken in Gladstone and Balfour Roads, Parnell to install P120 and P60 parking restrictions.

The area is currently unrestricted and occupied by commuter parkers. Short-term visitors to the area find it difficult to locate available parking.

 

12 consultation letters were sent out on the 8 November, 2006 and seven responded.

As a result of the feedback received, advisory letters were sent on the 24 November, 2006 to all consulted parties.

Both P120 and P60 parking restrictions will be installed in the vicinity around the Tennis Club.

Works were due to start in early January, 2007 and expected to be complete by early February, 2007 
Ladies Mile
Ellerslie
A small number of residents have been consulted for implementing a Residents Exempt parking scheme on Ladies Mile.

The consultation went out on the 29th March 2006.

Sixteen consultations were sent out and only six responses were received.

Due to the lack of support a scheme this was not implemented.

Normanby Road
Mt Eden

A request was received to install parking P60 and P120 restrictions outside and opposite 12-16 Normaby Road, Mt Eden. Due to recent developments in the area, the demand for short-term parking is ever increasing.

17 consultation letters were sent out on the 22 November,2006. 

Of the 17 letters sent, 12 responded.

The feedback analysis was completed on the 14th December, 2006

All consulted parties were advised of the outcome. Advisory letters were sent out on the 30 January, 2007.

As a result, the restrictions will be implemented as per the initial proposed plan.

Works are due to start in early February and expected to be complete by mid February.  
Poronui Street
Mt Eden
Residents and businesses have been consulted for the implementation of a P60 restriction in the top end (intersecting Mt Eden Road) of Poronui street.

Consultations were sent out on the 27th March 2006.

Twenty five consultations were sent out and ten were returned with 3 agreeing with the proposal and 9 disagreeing. There was 1 no preference as well. The P60 restriction therefore will not be going ahead.
Tahuna Street Freeman's Bay Residents in Tahuna Street are currently being consulted on the proposal to re-arrange the layout of the parking in the street.

This has come about due to the parents of the kindergarten children having difficulty finding car parks during drop off and pick up times. The proposal is to change some of the P120 residents exempt parking to P15 parking 8am-6pm Monday to Friday.

Consultations were sent out on the 4 April 2006.

Twelve Consultations were sent out and 7 were returned with 5 agreeing and 2 disagreeing. The 50 percent agreeing target was not met therefore the changes with not be implemented in Tahuna Street
