How will you be affected?

Anyone living or travelling on, or near, Dominion Road will be affected in some way by the upgraded street. Bus users will see improved bus stop facilities, shorter trip times and increased bus service reliability. Motorists and cyclists will experience reduced conflict with buses along the road, and a real alternative to travelling by car every day.

The widening directly affects around 290 properties along the 5km route. For the majority of property owners the council will purchase around one to two metres of their property frontage. Around 20 whole properties will be bought. All affected property owners should be aware by now of the designation and how they will be affected by it. Also, the designation is noted in the LIM report, provided by Auckland City to anyone contemplating buying an affected property. It is also shown in the city's District Plan (Isthmus Section).
