Introduction

Auckland City Council owns 2214km of footpaths across the city, many of which were constructed at a time when design conditions and standards were not as high as they are today.

Poor reinstatement by utility and building operators, tree roots and parked vehicles have also taken their toll on our footpaths.

$30 million has been set aside during this financial year to replace and repair  footpaths that have been identified as in poor or very poor condition.
