On ascertaining that spaces are available for lease parking within a specific car park, Auckland City Council forward by mail the application documents. These include:
- Application form
- Automatic payment form
- Two lease agreement forms
- Return self-addressed envelope
These are to be completed and returned to Auckland City Council as soon as possible, as no spaces are guaranteed until documentation is processed.
Once processed the customer will receive (via the cashier's booth at the specific car park) their plastic entry/exit card, windscreen label and one of the lease agreement forms for their records.
No allocated space is issued for "concession" lease parking. Customers are issued with a "concession" windscreen label to display in their vehicles, and park in any available space other than "reserved" spaces. Auckland City Council do not guarantee space availability if the patron takes their vehicle out of the car park, and come back into the car park to find it is full.
From the date of commencement to the end of that current month (ie. 7.4.02 - 30.4.02) an invoice will be raised for this period of parking, together with a $10.00 fee for each entry/exit card. If the entry / exit card is lost or damaged a further invoice will be raised for $25.00 for a replacement.
One months notice in advance is required for cancellation of lease parking, this must be in writing either by post (Auckland City Council, PO Box 106-044, Downtown, Auckland) or by fax (09) 366-2599.

Community parking assistance

Car rental at car parks
Short term car rental is now available at the council's Civic, Downtown and Victoria Street car park.
The council has leased a number of parking spaces to the CityHop company. CityHop hires environmentally friendly cars by the hour to members.
This is a flexible option for small businesses, those who live in the CBD and do not own a car and people who'd like to use public transport to get into the city but need access to a car occasionally.
It's one of the ways we are thinking creatively about the role car parks can play in our city to provide more transport choices for all Aucklanders.
