The vision
"Wynyard Point is for the people of Auckland and beyond to celebrate the
city's diverse cultural expressions, love of the harbour and enjoyment of a rich
choice of opportunities and experiences where the CBD edge meets the sea."
We also want to make sure that Wynyard Point's future development fits in with
the overall vision for the whole waterfront that was developed last year by
Auckland City and Auckland Regional Council in consultation with key
stakeholders and the public.
So these concepts that Auckland City has developed are based on the principles
of that vision.
| Public access and enjoyment It is easy to get to open space on the water's edge. |

|
 |
| Mix of uses and activity There is a mix of things to do at the waterfront, making it a great place to
live, work and play |
 |
| The port The port is a vital economic driver for the region
|
 |
| Working waterfront Auckland's working waterfront plays a key economic role and it also reflects our
maritime history |
