The Road Controlling Authorities (RCA's) within the Auckland
Region and the Auckland Utility Operators Group (AUOG) have worked together to
produce a consistent set of standards for working in the road.
This code incorporates the concept of partnership. This is a
living document and any significant difficulties arising during implementation
will be addressed on a case by case basis. You can provide feedback on the code here.
This document is subject to continuous improvement and
regular reviews. The phasing in of each part of the code and each revision will
be done in a manner that recognises existing contractual arrangements and
approved road opening notices. With this in mind the RCA expects any new
amendments to be applied immediately to all new contracts on agreement between
the RCA and the utility operators. The RCA will apply existing arrangements to
all works in progress. Where work has not started but a road opening notice has
been given, the RCA expects the new requirements to apply, unless otherwise
agreed.
RCA's reserve the right to impose more stringent standards in
particular circumstances and may approve lesser standards to this code on a case
by case basis, at the request of the principal provider.
