Long-term council community plan
Auckland City's Long-term Plan 2006 - 2016
Auckland City has published its long-term council community plan,
called Auckland City's Long-term
Plan 2006 - 2016.
Produced every three years, these 10-year plans must show what the council
does and how it will work towards achieving community outcomes - the things the
community has told us that they think are important for the city's future and
wellbeing.
In the long-term plan documents you can read about our plans and projects for the next 10 years and how much we expect them to cost - from how we'll help to build the city's economy, to how we'll strengthen the transport network, new capital and community board projects proposed for your area, and new community outcome themes.
You can also read key financial statements and summaries of important
policies that guide how the council runs its business. In particular, you may
want to look at our rating policy, which has confirmed several changes in the rates
for the 2006 to 2007 financial year.

Amendments Focus on the Future 2004 - 2014
Auckland City has made some amendments to the long-term council community
plan, which is called Focus on the Future 2004-2014.
This is because the newly elected council has different objectives from the
previous council, and because Auckland City needs to respond to rapid growth and
increasing demands on council services.
Focus on the Future 2003
The Focus on the Future 2003 document was the
council's long-term plan before the introduction of the Local Government Act
(2002) which changed the long-term planning requirements for local authorities.
