Introduction
Maungawhau-Mt Eden is an important feature of the Auckland landscape and Auckland
City Council is committed to ensuring that the cone is protected for future generations
to enjoy.
We're currently exploring options for a visitor centre
and transport on the cone. The aim is to improve visitor experiences to Maungawhau-Mt
Eden, while protecting the integrity of the cone.
In addition, we've already reviewed and developed a
management plan
and a conservation plan for the mountain to ensure it's
protected and enhanced in years to come.
