Background
Sylvia Park is Auckland's
newest retail destination, bringing a new dynamic to the city's southeast.
Once complete, the development will be the largest retail and entertainment
centre in the country and will include an office development.
It will have a range of
services and entertainment on offer, and be a social and employment hub for the
local community.
The centre is part of the
Tamaki Edge, New Zealand's biggest urban renewal project, which will see
investment of more than $3 billion fuel the area's economic growth.
Auckland City has an integrated range of transport and
roading improvements designed to complement growth in and around the Tamaki
Edge. These improvements will work together to:
- maintain acceptable traffic impacts on the local roading network
- provide new roading works in time for land use developments
- place
an increasing emphasis on public transport solutions.
Kiwi Income Property Trust, the owner and developer of Sylvia Park, has
constructed a rail
station and bus terminal on site to enable visitors and workers to access the
retail and business centre.
