Valley Road shopping centre upgrade
The Valley Road shopping centre upgrade is part of the wider
Dominion Road transport
and streetscape improvements.
The proposed upgrade will allow pedestrians to walk more safely and swiftly to and
from Eden Park and the Valley Road centre to either shop or eat before or after
an event.
Details of the upgrade are yet to be determined, but could include:
- improved footpaths and lighting
- new furnishings
- plantings.
The benefits
- An upgrade will allow pedestrians to move more safely and quickly to and from Eden Park and the Valley Road shopping centre,
minimising disruption to residents and businesses in the area.
- The enhanced look, feel and safety will make the business area a more attractive destination for both residents and visitors.
Approximate project timeline
- 2008 - planning
- 2009 - design
- 2010/11 - implementation.
