Arts Alive is an Auckland City Council performing arts sponsorship programme which operates in partnership with full time performing arts professionals. The programmes objectives are:
Auckland City Council, through Arts Alive, invites proposals in February/March and August each year, from individuals, organisations, venues or businesses seeking sponsorship for their projects in the city. Projects may be a single production, a series of concerts or performances, a one-off show or concert, or a festival and must involve music, dance or theatre, or a combination of these. Arts Alive does not support school projects, community or amateur groups. The organisers of all projects considered by Arts Alive must be prepared to enter into sponsorship agreements which will provide Auckland City Council with the opportunity to promote its involvement in and support of the professional performing arts in Auckland. Funding round datesFor projects taking place between November 2008 and April 2009. Other Auckland City Council support availableAuckland City Council provides funding support for local and community events under the Creative Communities local arts funding scheme, and hires street performers and purchase produced work for community days and events.
