Community venues<< Back to Community venues main page Community hallsGeneral information | Conditions of hire | Apply for a discount on hireage fees | Additional costs | Locations General informationAuckland City Council owns and administers 29 halls through the city centre, outlying suburbs and the Gulf islands. Whatever your requirement - whether it be a place to meet, community activity space, social function venue, theatre space or a place to hold a wedding reception - there is a hall for you. Our hall portfolio ranges from small carpeted meeting rooms to large wooden-floored halls to theatre spaces complete with a stage, changing rooms and practice areas. All halls come furnished with tables and chairs. Most of the larger halls have kitchens equipped with a stove, dishwasher, fridge, pie warmer, cups and saucers. The smaller halls have a variety of kitchen equipment, the minimum being tea and coffee making facilities. A PA system is available on request at some halls at a reasonable cost. All venues are smoke free and security is required for all social functions. The hall hire rates vary from between $16 to $56 per hour depending on the size and facilities on offer. Room rates are highly competitive and all hire charges are inclusive of GST. A 25 per cent or 50 per cent discount is available to community groups who book halls for activities that are of community benefit. Discounts are assessed on the purpose of the activity or event for which the booking is made and the nature and financial status of the group or organisation. Please contact us for all community hall
general enquiries. You can also pay your booking fee online once you have received your invoice. |
