Burgess Rolls for the City of Auckland 1872/73 & 1882/83
Burgess rolls are the published lists of holders of property within the wards (Grafton, Karangahape, East, North, Ponsonby and South) of Auckland borough council.
The rolls are alphabetical by burgesses' name. The specific details recorded for each are their christian and surnames; occupation; description and situation of property; number of properties on valuation roll; rateable value of each property; total rateable value of properties and number of votes.
The database is searchable by name, occupation and/or location (of property), i.e. street, and includes rolls for 1872/73 and 1882/83. Use the Browse button to browse the contents of these fields.
