Search Tips
To find a street enter the full name: Queen Street or Anzac Avenue or Beach Road.
To find a suburb enter the suburb: St Marys Bay or Mount Eden
(Saint is always abbreviated e.g. St Matthews Church, Mount is always written in
full).
In the subject field, mountain is used to make a distinction between mountains and
suburbs of the same name (e.g. Use Mount Albert for views of the suburb, or Mount
Albert, mountain for views of the mountain).
Subjects are entered as plurals (e.g. hats, steamships).
Names are entered in the subject field - family name, then first names or initials when
known (e.g. Clark, John George,or Clark, A F). Use browse to assist your search. Where exact date is unknown, the Time period field has been entered, do a separate
search for both date and time period to achieve best results when limiting search by
dates.
The date can be entered in the following formats: 2 Mar 1922, or Feb 1912, or 1933.
