Auckland Art Fair '07 logo.18 - 20 May 2007
Marine Events Centre
Halsey Street, Viaduct Harbour
Auckland CBD

We are proud to sponsor and host the second Auckland Art Fair.

This is an opportunity for the cultured and the curious to view the best of our galleries (and invited Australian galleries) have to offer in terms of New Zealand, Pacific and Maori contemporary visual artworks.

This year the Auckland Art Fair moves to Viaduct Harbour, signalling the huge growth of the event since the inaugural Auckland Art Fair in 2005.

Putting Auckland on the map as a visual art destination, this prestigious three day event is New Zealand's national art fair. The anticipated 10,000 visitors to the event will include enthusiasts, collectors, curators, artists and media who will enjoy a showcase of the best contemporary art ever presented in New Zealand, in one place.

The Auckland Art Fair will include major installations by internationally renowned artists Tony Oursler and Len Lye and an expanded public programme. Highlights will include guest speakers and a lecture series presented by the Auckland Art Gallery. There will also be an exclusive engagement with UK critic and TV presenter, Matthew Collings, who will be attending the event as a guest of the trust.

Presented by the New Zealand Contemporary Art Trust, the Auckland Art Fair and Auckland City Council seek to showcase New Zealand, Pacific Island and Maori art to the rest of the world as a creative force.

Auckland city is home to 60 galleries, 73 per cent of the region's creative industry sector, and 37 per cent of the national creative industry sector.
