Celebrating 10 years of the Auckland International Boat Show

The Auckland International Boat Show 2009 will fill the Viaduct Harbour in Auckland with a huge selection of New Zealand and imported yachts, launches and trailer boats, and the latest in locally made and imported marine electronics and boat equipment.

A wonderful spectacle of the show will be a selection of classic yachts, some more than 100 years old. These yachts are regularly sailed and have survived thanks to the qualities of the New Zealand kauri timber and a tradition of fine craftsmanship. These vessels are presented by the Classic Yacht Association.

There will be some on-water demonstrations of new power systems and the opportunity to test your boat driving skills with Coastguard.

As well as the on-the-water displays, the land-based exhibits will include:

  • electronics
  • information about boating
  • cruising and fishing in New Zealand
  • marinas
  • and safety gear.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff on up to 200 plus stands make it an ideal time to plan to a boating holiday or purchase in New Zealand.

There are cafes and bars at the show and it's a great opportunity to relax and soak up the real atmosphere of the City of Sails.

It is excellent use of Auckland's Viaduct Harbour raising Auckland's profile both nationally and internationally, promoting Auckland's maritime identity and economic impact to the city.
