Parnell Festival of Roses
8 - 9 November 2008 Parnell comes alive on 8 and 9 November during the Parnell Festival of Roses - a free family celebration featuring music, poetry, dance, craft and food. Rose GardensDove-Myer Robinson ParkNoon to 6pm daily There will be a huge range of talented poets, musicians and dancers on two stages from noon to 6pm during the weekend. Highlight acts include:

Historic walk3pm, Saturday 8 November Those interested in the history of Parnell can meet at Judges Bay at 3pm on Saturday for a historic walk led by Rendell McIntosh. Parnell RoadParnell Road Market Day10am - 4pm, Saturday Don't miss the excitement of hunting for some unique Christmas bargains at the Parnell Road Market Day. Parnell Hill Sprint7am to 9am, Saturday New this year is the Parnell Hill Sprint with cycling enthusiasts competing for the fastest time negotiating Parnell Rise's 2km hill course to win some great prizes from iBike. Parnell Community CentreThe Parnell Farmers' Market8am to noon, Saturday The Parnell Farmers' Market will be on as usual with their fantastic fresh and seasonal produce. Jubilee HallSaturday 8 November Get down to the Jubilee Hall and cast your vote early so you can make the most of what's on offer around the area. Be in to winThe Parnell library has a "quote the rose" competition in the week leading up to the festival. Be in to win a rose bush, and don't forget to have a look at the library's fine selection of gardening books for inspiration and practical advice.
